Every Profile. Every Project.

The Hardie™ Exteriors range is where James Hardie™ has built its name in Australian construction. These are the products on the front of homes and buildings across every state: weatherboards, horizontal panels, vertical groove systems, and large-format sheets, all manufactured from non-combustible fibre cement, all pre-primed, and all engineered to hold up in Australian conditions that would rapidly age anything less robust.
The range is broad by design. Different projects, different climates, different design briefs, and different budgets all call for different profiles. CSP Architectural supplies the full Hardie™ Exteriors catalogue with our in-house take-off and cutting service behind every order.

The Hardie™ Exteriors Range

Twelve distinct exterior products, from classic Australian weatherboards to architecturally designed groove panels. Each product is pre-primed, non-combustible and designed for specific aesthetic outcomes and project types.

Brushed Concrete Cladding

A raw, brushed concrete aesthetic in a lightweight fibre cement panel. All the visual character of formed concrete, the texture, the tonal variation, and the industrial materiality, without the structural requirements, the weight or the maintenance challenges of actual concrete.

Oblique™ Cladding

An asymmetrical groove profile, one square edge and one angled, creating a distinctive shadow pattern across the facade’s surface. It can be installed vertically or horizontally and used in combination with Stria™ to create bespoke facade configurations. A more deliberate design choice for residential and boutique commercial projects.

Fine Texture Cladding

The render look without the render. An 8.5mm fibre cement panel with a fine sand texture embedded directly into the surface, pre-sealed, ready to paint and BAL40-rated when installed in a compliant system. Large-format shiplap sheets minimise horizontal joints and speed up installation, while the matte, light-diffusing finish lets the building’s form do the work rather than competing with it.

Axon™ Cladding

The contemporary benchmark. A deep-grooved vertical panel system that’s become one of the most specified exterior products in modern Australian residential construction. Clean shadow lines, a consistent profile, pre-primed and ready to paint, works from beachside townhouses to inner-city apartments to rural homesteads.

Matrix™ Cladding

A square-edged flat panel with a fine-textured surface. The workhorse of the range is versatile, contemporary and at home across residential cladding, light commercial facades and mixed-use developments where a clean, unfussy profile is the brief. Available in a range of sheet sizes.

Linea™ Weatherboard

Traditional horizontal weatherboard profile in fibre cement, the classic Australian look without timber’s maintenance burden. Same installation method as timber weatherboard, same aesthetic result, dramatically less upkeep. Particularly popular on character renovations and period-influenced new builds.

Stria™ Cladding

Horizontal shadow-line cladding in standard and fine texture finishes. Where Axon™ goes vertical, Stria™ goes horizontal, a complementary profile that can be used independently or combined with Axon™ for multi-directional facade compositions. Available in 325mm and 405mm cover widths.

ExoTec™ Facade Panel (Residential)

The residential application of ExoTec™, a high-performance large-format facade panel for architecturally designed homes where the standard cladding range doesn’t match the ambition of the brief. Specified on premium residential projects requiring larger panels, tighter tolerances and more demanding performance credentials.

Plank Weatherboard

Classic horizontal weatherboard is available in a range of widths; 150mm, 180mm and 230mm cover it. A time-tested profile with decades of installation history across Australian residential construction, now in a non-combustible, low-maintenance fibre cement format.

EasyLap™ Panel

Horizontal lapped cladding panel designed for fast installation on volume residential projects. A pre-primed, factory-finished panel format that installs quickly and delivers a consistent result, particularly useful on large residential developments where installation speed is as important as finished quality.

Hardie™ Flex Sheet

Flexible fibre cement sheets for curved, radius and irregular wall forms. Where standard rigid sheets can’t follow the geometry of a curved wall, bay window or barrel vault, Flex Sheet can, without compromising the non-combustible, low-maintenance properties of the broader Hardie™ range.

Primeline™ Weatherboard

Premium horizontal weatherboard with a smooth, pre-primed surface and a distinctive bevel profile. Suited to period homes, heritage-influenced designs and projects where the quality of the weatherboard finish is part of the architectural intent.

Axent™ Trim

Purpose-designed fibre cement trim, corner pieces, reveals, window surrounds and finishing sections to complete the Hardie™ Exteriors cladding system. Made from the same material as the cladding for consistent appearance, weathering and maintenance requirements across the whole facade.

Why Fibre Cement for External Cladding?

Non-combustible

James Hardie™ fibre cement products will not burn. Suitable for use in BAL-rated zones and on buildings with NCC fire performance requirements for external wall cladding.

Resistant to moisture damage

Unlike timber, fibre cement doesn't rot, swell or warp with water exposure. Engineered to handle the moisture cycling typical of Australian climates, from tropical north to temperate south.

Termite and pest resistant

Fibre cement gives termites nothing to work with. No cellulose content, no nutritional value, no infestation risk, a genuine advantage in Australia's termite-active environments.

Low maintenance

Pre-primed and paint-ready. No oiling, no sealing, no rot treatment. Repainting to maintain the finish is the only ongoing maintenance requirement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Axon™ and Stria™ cladding?
Axon™ Cladding has a vertical groove profile; the shadow lines run up and down the facade. Stria™ Cladding has a horizontal groove profile; the shadow lines run across it. Both create a similar contemporary aesthetic through shadow-line detailing, but the orientation is opposite. They can be used independently or combined on the same facade, horizontal Stria™ on the lower storey and vertical Axon™ above, for example, to create a layered facade composition. Both are pre-primed, non-combustible and available in a range of sheet sizes.
Yes. All James Hardie™ fibre cement exterior products are non-combustible and are regularly specified in bushfire attack level (BAL)-rated zones. Products are suitable across the BAL scale, from BAL-12.5 through to BAL-FZ, but specific installation requirements vary by BAL rating and product. James Hardie™ provides BAL-rated installation guides for their exterior products. Contact our team for the relevant documentation for your project’s BAL classification.
Yes, and it’s included with every order at no extra cost. Send us your architectural drawings, and we’ll calculate exact quantities, sheets, fixings and accessories. It removes the guesswork from procurement, reduces off-cuts and avoids the over-ordering that adds unnecessary cost to residential projects.
Yes. James Hardie™ designs the Exteriors range to be combined. Axon™ and Stria™ are a common pairing, as is Matrix™ as a base panel with Axon™ as an accent element. Oblique™ and Stria™ can be mixed to create custom facade patterns using the same installation system. The Axent™ Trim range provides the reveals, corners and finishing sections to make mixed-product facades resolve cleanly.
